7 day hunger strike for a common front against counterrevolution across greek turkey border

To the social movements in Greece, Turkey and Kurdistan.

For a common front against inter-state counter-revolution and nationalism.

On October 30th, the communist comrades of the Popular Front (Turkey), Harika Kızılkaya, Burak Agarmış, Özkan Güzel and Erdoğan Çakır, fell martyrs fighting against fascism, as soon as they crossed the border from the greek to the turkish side. Two weeks later, the Greek anti-guerrilla directorate captured and detained two Popular Front (Turkey) fighters and then another comrade, Şadi Naci Özpolat, Halil Demir and Hüseyin Kılıç. The upgraded counter-revolutionary cooperation of the two NATO states, Greece and Turkey, gave its first signs in July 2023: the greek judicial apparatus reopened the case of the 11 fighters, whose captivity by the special counter-revolutionary law (Article 187A) had ended in March ‘23. At the same time, the greek military rule evacuated the refugee camp of the struggling Kurdish community in Lavrio.

The capitalist massacre that unfolded with the earthquake in the Turkish territory and the railway disaster in the Tempe region in Greece awakened the social movement on both sides of the border, forcing the two governments to limit their investment in mutual nationalist hatred during their election campaigns. The rapprochement of the two states, beyond their electoral opportunism, is primarily about business and the sharing of the pie from the imperialist plunder of fossil fuel and the destruction of the Aegean marine life. But it is also about strengthening counter-revolutionary terrorism and the anti-proletarian exploitation and extermination of migrants.

On Thursday 7th of December, Erdogan and Mitsotakis will meet in Athens in the framework of the High Council of Cooperation between Greece and Turkey. Among the group of Turkish ministers arriving for this strategic political conference will be the political staff of the special counter-revolutionary war of Turkish colonial fascism: Interior Minister, Justice Minister and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, MHP (party of the Grey Wolves) official, director of MIT for many years and assassin of PKK co-founder Sakine Cansiz and revolutionary Evîn Goyî in Paris (9th of January 2013 and 23rd of December 2022, together with other Kurdish fighters). Fidan is also the orchestrator of the massacres of the Islamic State in Syria, Turkey and Europe.

Capitalists and state rulers have no hesitation in sacrificing proletarians for their war machines in order to negotiate their gains, just as is done by the neo-Ottoman colonialism in Syria, in N. Iraq, the Caucasus and in Maghreb. In the same way, greek-NATOist nationalism governs the greek territory, which serves as the most rooted and developed military base of American militarism, and disposes its military forces in imperialist campaigns (strategic cooperation with Israeli colonialism, supply of war material to Ukrainian fascism, stationing of the greek antiaircraft artillery unit Patriot in S. Arabia and supplying bombs to be used against Yemeni people and the resistance, commitment to participate in interventions in the Sahel, naval participation in supporting the current zionist genocide and in the blockade of Lebanon). They are ruthless every day against the people.

Their economic cooperation is a war against the working class. Their border cooperation is war against the migrants of the economic, military and counter-revolutionary war. Both their peace and their war is class war.

As the day of the strategic political conference of the two nationalist cadres of the southeastern NATO border region approaches, the greek basket of offerings to turkish fascism is growing. The hearing of the prosecutor’s appeal to overturn the acquittal of the 11 Turkish fighters for the charges on article 187A is set for December 5th, two days before the inter-state meeting. No surprise there. After all, the Greek state has still not been held accountable for the handover, in 1999, of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan to the CIA, Mossad and MIT, an act that marked the cornerstone for launching the most extensive and long-lasting NATO campaign and the spread of destruction in the Middle East. Recently, the Greek delegation to the EU and ministers of the greek state received from the Confederation of NE Syria a dossier with detailed information on the crimes of the turkish occupation, which are multiplying year after year against social and political infrastructures and residents of the Confederation. It is a given that the greek state and the EU as a single mechanism will continue to invest in the slaughter of the global proletariat and of the social revolution and that they will not sacrifice their capitalist partnerships. It is a given that the greek state and the EU will continue to persecute the turkish and kurdish revolutionary organizations and to imprison political refugees, they will continue to arm and coddle turkish fascism, which serves as a bridgehead of imperialist aggression, they will continue the mass extermination of migrants at the borders of the european capitalist metropolis.

It is the responsibility of the greek social movement to take action against interstate counter-revolution. It is the responsibility of the social movement on both sides of the greek-turkish border to give combative and organic substance to internationalism.

The Greek movement on the streets alongside the political refugees, to block the prolonged captivity of the fighters of the Popular Front.

We express with revolutionary terms that the presence of the dictatorship’s chief agent Hakan Fidan and of the whole cohort of turkish fascism is cause for war.

Honour to the martyrs of the Popular Front, Harika Kızılkaya, Burak Ağarmış, Özkan Güzel and Erdoğan Çakır

Honour to MLKP martyr Osman Nuri Ocaklı (Şervan Karadeniz’in), who was assassinated in Rojava on June 12, 2023, in a targeted airstrike.

As a prisoner of the class war, I express my determination and commitment to the common revolutionary struggle on both sides of the greek-turkish border, to the direct action and organizational efforts that are necessary, with a 7-day hunger strike until the strategic congress of the two states (7 December).
